Bijoy Chowdhury
 
Bijoy Chowdhury is a photographer and filmmaker based out of Konnagar in West Bengal, India. In 1988 he graduated from Government College of Art and Craft Kolkata with a specialisation in visual arts. For many years, Bijoy has been passionately documenting Kolkata's public life and various marginal cultural practices in the city and its suburbs. Bahurupi, Trams of Kolkata and Letter Box are three of his acclaimed photo series. He has received Commonwealth Prize and National Geographic Traveller Photo Awardfor his photographic works. Wounds, My Son and His Grandfather and Barefoot Journey are a few of his award-winning documentaries.
Bijoy's previous book, Kolkatar Chinepara on the Chinese Community of Kolkata has been well-received by the readers.
Journey with Land Rover is a result of his passionate attachment with the Eastern Himalayas over the years.
